Make Hair Great Again

Comments Off on Make Hair Great Again

This video lies at the nexus of where this blog has ended up (mostly hairline based humor) and current events in the US.  I think we need to make this ‘webbrog’ great again!!  These damn Hoodia spam robots have taken over our website and taken all the good commenting jobs from hardworking, blue collar ministers.  Do your duty, post and comment, otherwise the spam robots win.  MOM 2016!!

Not to trump your post MOMma, but my Seagal wine video only got two comments and I thought it was pure gold, so I’m pissed…and you will all pay by sitting through 7 minutes of heaven big willie style. I’m calling it now, Big Willie Style in the White House in 2016.

Sorry this post will be a bit convoluted, but I have a few things to bring up. Here are the things I would like to discuss:

  1. I tried to deliver password protected posts yesterday, but they aren’t going to work in our current system. There are two options moving forward to achieve this goal:
    • keep us on MovableType but move over to dynamic content (php). This would have the least effect on everyone, but as I have found from using MT, it is not as widely supported as WordPress, so there are less cool plugins.
    • move us onto WordPress. This would be a new system, but it is really similar to MT so everyone should be able to figure it out. I know we just moved so I am weighing that in my decision. The last move took several days time so I will not be making this move for a while.

  2. The I.F.S. Game is moving along nicely. I have added a link to the top of the left column for easy access in the future. Everything is set for another level, but it would be nice to get the scoreboard completed as well. Which would you rather see first?
  3. The I.F.S. Constitution – Our beloved Minister of Philanthropy has drafted a more formal constitution that needs to be melded with our napkins so that we have super sacred documents. Philanthropy has some great ideas for formalizing some elements of our society in an effort to preserve it’s original intent, while providing groups of ministers the freedom to conduct meetings and business.
  4. The Next I.F.S. Meeting – We have a real need for some business to be taken care of, and the next meeting is a great opportunity for this to happen. I don’t want to sink ships, but from what I have heard Chicago is not going to happen, as there are many unknowns in people’s lives right now. The latest I heard from Team Germany was that they will not be able to make it. I personally am sitting on my rebate money, but could really use it to cover the past month’s credit bills as I apparently got a little crazey.
  5. It Doesn’t Happen At IHOP – I got the call and our story was a runner-up.

Any other business to discuss?

New Beer’s Eve

prohibition.jpg

Today marks 75 years since the day that the Cullen-Harrison Act, which raised the legal limit in alcohol from .5%, called near-beer, to 3.2%, and was the first step towards the end of the 14-year prohibition on alcohol, was passed. And while alcohol was still relatively easy to find during Prohibition, Chicago had around 20,000 speakeasies, the new tax on alcohol bolstered our economy. Our good friends in St. Louis, Missouri are celebrating, so why don’t you? Raise a toast of Adolphus tonight, or you can get out!

A Russell for Every Season

Ministers, it’s time.  It’s time to transform an exciting idea into a harrowing reality.  On October 27th, we will unite to become the MANY ROLES OF KURT RUSSELL.  Most of you know about this concept, and hopefully you are excited to be a part of it.  For those of you who are out of the Russell-loop (Shwayne), here’s a few reasons why we will soon be uniting to become the MANY ROLES OF KURT RUSSELL:

1) Kurt is HANDSOME

2) Kurt is STRONG:

3) Kurt is NICE:

So, now that you know the WHO (KURT RUSSELL) and the WHY (ABOVE), here’s the WHEN, the WHAT/WHERE and the HOW:

WHEN: October 27, 2007.  The Saturday evening before Halloween.
WHAT/WHERE: Halloween Party at Amanda’s home in Los Feliz.  Call me for directions.
HOW:
1) Choose one of Kurt Russell’s roles (some costume suggestions included as well): Stargate (buzz cut, army fatigues), Tombstone (strong mustache), Backdraft, Escape from New York (eye patch), Escape from LA (eye patch, surf board), Soldier, Captain Ron (hawaiin shirt, speedo), Breakdown, Poseidon (tuxedo, step in the shower), Big Trouble in Little China, 3,000 Miles to Graceland (Elvis costume and machine gun), Miracle, Death Proof, and many more – full listing and pictures here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000621/.
2) This has to be an organized process, otherwise, we’d have 8 Captain Rons showing up to the party.  So, when you have selected your Kurt Russell role, please comment on this post with your name and your desired role.  This will be a first come, first serve basis; if someone has picked Captain Ron, then you CANNOT be Captain Ron.  Maybe you can be Stargate or Vanilla Sky instead.
3) Create your costume and wear it to the party.   All costumes will require strong hair (some of you have this, some of us will need wigs – modified mullet wigs should work).
4) Take pictures with the other Kurt Russells at the party.  These pictures will be very strong.

The more Kurt Russells, the better, so I hope that all of you can make it.  Please comment with your picks, and with any questions that you may have.  Hope to see you all there.
