A Marathon Weekend

With Towers’ marathon run a couple days away, my own personal lack of athletic accomplishment has become obvious through contrast, except for when I’m draining threes like Kobe, count it, so I’ve been looking for masochistic things to endure in replace of running a marathon, and I think I have found it.

Through a timely email from Amazon, my path has become clear – I must see NEXT this weekend.  With a description like this I might have to catch the matinĂ©e today, but I hope others view this film before I see them this weekend so we can talk about how awesome it was when Cage dodged that sniper bullet, or that car, or that other thing he is sure to dodge with his ability to see minutes into the future:

Cris Johnson (Nicolas Cage) is a Las Vegas magician with the ability to see
a few minutes into the future. Seeking to escape government scrutiny, he
lives off the grid, performing cheap tricks for meager cash under an
assumed name. But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear
device in Los Angeles, FBI agent Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore) becomes
determined to track Cris down and convince him to help stop the attack.

I’ve heard this movie is so good, it will literally rip your face off.
