Dear Brothers,

Congratulations on the fantastic weekend that was IFS Philadelphia

I hope you are all recuperating well and are preparing yourself for are upcoming adventures for the rest of September.

Download festival (The SF music extravaganza I brought up at the last meeting) is going to be held on Saturday Sept. 30th at the Shoreline Amphitheater in  San Jose

. Show highlights will include performances by Beck, the Yeah yeah yeahs, TV on the radio, the Shins, Muse, Wolf mother, and some cool potential gusts. We can hopefully find accommodations with our IFS brethren living in the area (Fidel and Tonto, that’s you) and can supplement those lodgings with friend of the society’s houses, Mike Hu, the Pi Phi girls, etc. Don’t let the money be too much of a concern, I found round trip fights on Travelocity from LAX to San Jose for as cheap as $103 round trip, and from LAX into SFO for $123. The tickets are between $25 and $50 depending on where we want to have access to. The show guarantees to go on, rain or shine, and if we all get motivated and show up it will be a weekend for the record books.

NFL 2006-7 monster season kick off and inaugural MesaHouse opening party. Due to some conflicting work schedule issues, this had to be delayed from Sunday the 10th to Sunday the 27th, but never the less the show will go on.  A day of Adolfus drinking and gridiron gazing will be preceded by a night of jager-bombs and torturer-shots. I am going to slow cook some competition worthy chili with prime cuts of meet several days ahead of time so the flavors have time to blend and mature.

Lets keep the high after Philly going strong through the rest of the month! These to events have potential to be awesome if we all get behind them and make it happen. Please comment or give me a call (949-878-6842) with any questions or ideas you may have.

Good flap-jack,

The Rabbi of Leisure

Fidel picks you up with Mike Hu, and they greet you with a cold bottle of Adolphus that you drink on the drive back to Tenderloin. It’s great.

All ministers considering flying should check out Southwest’s special $39.00 one way from LAX to Oakland. Behold:

Regarding the Download music festival, I’m trying to get up there but my beach cruiser isn’t the most logical form of transportation, so hopefully I will be getting a ride from either our IFS mom, Simone, or someone else. I think it would pretty cool if we stayed at my house that weekend, my parents are going to be out of town so there’s plenty of room, I live 20-30 minutes from the city, and an hour from San Jose, the same distance from SF to San Jose, plus it’s free and always fun to keep the monks in the same cage. Show of hands who is thinking about going up to the concert.
Also, the NFL barbeque will be happening on Sun. the 17th, not Wed. the 27th as Josh mentioned, so this weekend.
